Did you happen to miss some or all of our TERMINATOR TRIVIA postings on our Facebook Page? Well don’t fret, we’ve collected all of these tasty Terminator tidbits into a single volume that you can read here! And who knows, even the most die-hard Terminator Fans might just learn something new about the franchise we all hold near and dear to our hearts!
A BLAST FROM THE PAST!
Did you know that in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, due to rights issues, director James Cameron could not use any of the footage of the West Highland Police Station massacre from 1984’s “The Terminator”? This forced Cameron to actually recreate a scene from that 1984 massacre, which he used to create the surveillance photos that police investigators showed Sarah Connor in The Pescadero State Hospital.
Did you know that “Terminator Genisys” writers Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier originally wrote flashback scenes (that were never filmed) of the Guardian Terminator “Pops” and young Sarah Connor growing up together? Among these scenes were moments where the Guardian read books to Sarah, watched “Sesame Street” together, and even had a tea party that turned into shooting practice.
Did you know that Linda Hamilton’s twin sister Leslie played the second Sarah Connor in the background of this “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” scene?
CAN YOU GIVE ME A HAND?
Did you know that in 1984’s “The Terminator” Tech-Noir alley chase scene, because director James Cameron used a real windshield versus breakaway glass in Kyle’s getaway car, a pneumatic press with a steel fist attached was used to break the windshield instead of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s real hand?
And because the pneumatic press wasn’t mobile enough, did you know that Cameron had a tractor trailer truck drive by with 50 feet of brick wall attached to it, to give the illusion that Kyle Reese’s escape car was actually moving (even though it was truly completely stationary)?
MISSING PERSONS REPORT.
Did you know that actor Terry Crews had a speaking role in “Terminator Salvation”? He played the role of Captain Jericho, brother to Lieutenant Barnes. His scenes were cut from the final film unfortunately, however you can briefly see Jericho’s dead body as John Connor climbs out of the Skynet stronghold.
EVEN TERMINATORS NEED A TEDDY!
Did you know that in the “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” scene where ‘Uncle Bob’ picks up and analyzes a toddler at the camp of Enrique Salceda, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger actually practiced with a teddy bear, standing along side a stand-in for Edward Furlong?
We’ll be back… with Volume Three!
