Kyle Reese actor Jai Courtney was looking forward to filming the “TERMINATOR GENISYS” Trilogy!

Apparently Terminator fans were not the only ones disappointed when Skydance announced the new Genisys trilogy would be delayed.  While plugging his latest movie “Suicide Squad”, Jai Courtney spoke to CinemaBlend regarding his disappointment that the planned “Terminator Genisys” Trilogy was put on temporary hold (as Skydance Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg put it) “to do a worldwide study and really talk to audiences about what they loved, and what maybe didn’t work for them, so that the next (step) we take with the franchise is the right one.”

This is what Jai Courtney had to say about the studio’s decision to delay future movies for readjustment, and how cool the planned sequels would have been:

“There’s definitely some pretty clear outlines for where that was going to be taken, and shit sounded really cool, man. So, that’s why part of me is fine with the fact that if we’ve moved on from that, we’ve moved on from that. I’m not one to kind of… I don’t have many regrets in life, and I don’t really hang onto the past too strongly either way. So, it’s like fuck, man. It was disappointing to hear that they’d sort of nixed the plans to get another one up and running, because I thought it would probably be relatively quick turnaround if they did it. But, you know, there’s also reasons for that, so we’ll see.”

Jai Courtney correctly ended his statement with “we’ll see” because to this day, Paramount Studios refuses to say the trilogy is cancelled and Skydance’s official position is there indeed will be a next step with the Terminator franchise. However, will that next step include actor Jai Courtney?  That is anyone’s guess, but it is disappointing to see how excited Jai felt towards the continuation of the Genisys trilogy and just how cool the direction of the story would have gone (if they were allowed to continue as originally planned.)

We’ll be back.
