The Running Time for “TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY 3D” has been revealed!

Fresh from STUDIOCANAL’s announcement that James Cameron’s newly-restored, 3D version of T2 will have its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival on February 17th 2017, the Festival’s official website has just posted a running time for “Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D”. This new information confirms a much pondered question: Will fans get to watch the original theatrical version, or the special extended cut in theaters this spring?

It’s time to find out Terminator fans! Look below and check out the Running Time for yourself:

Yes, the Berlin Film Festival website lists a running time of 138 Minutes.

As most fans are aware, the original 1991 theatrical and home video release of the blockbuster hit “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” had an approximate running time of 137 minutes (2 hours, 17 minutes).  Allotting one extra minute for new 3D conversion credits, this 138 Minute runtime is probably a concrete indicator that the Special Edition Director’s cut of T2  (153 Minute Running Time) will not be the version you will see in 3D.

Sorry T2 Special Edition fans!

We’ll be back.

  1. I don’t know why everyone loves the special edition so much. I showed it to someone who had never seen T2 before and quickly realized it was a terrible way to see the movie for the first time. It’s cool to watch for the extra scenes if you’re a fan… but the theatrical cut is the best version of the film. The theatrical cut is the REAL T2. James Cameron knows this.
