An appeal to Skydance to finish the GENISYS TRILOGY in another medium.

Now that Paramount Pictures has officially declined their option to continue with the “Terminator Genisys” trilogy, and Skydance looks onward to produce a new Terminator film with creator James Cameron in the mix, a great deal of Terminator fans are left wondering what happened to the Guardian, Sarah and Kyle in the Genisys timeline? So it is time to let Skydance know, that fans would like to find out.

While Skydance Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg stressed that the framework of “Terminator Genisys” was written mostly as a standalone film in case Skydance was not fortunate enough to complete the trilogy (which is exactly what happened), this second highest grossing film in the Terminator franchise was truly created with three films in mind.

In the beginning, Skydance Media CCO David Ellison constructed a whole office dedicated to the development of their new Terminator franchise. In this office, his whole team (including writers Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier) mapped out a brand new future for the Terminator Universe, and each individual character had their own path to follow. Before “Terminator Genisys” was even released theatrically, Skydance had the Guardian, Sarah, and all the other character’s story arcs entirely mapped out for three films. It was so fleshed out that David Ellison even revealed that they knew the last shot of the third movie, before the first movie was even released.

It was reported that the next two movies in the “Terminator Genisys” trilogy would address numerous unsolved mysteries. The machines can’t invent time travel. Why? Who sent the Guardian Terminator back and who reprogrammed him to protect Sarah? And if John Connor was not the savior of humanity, and didn’t exist, what would happen to the future? What shape would it take? Would someone rise up and take John’s place? Can a single person truly change history?

Fans, who overwhelmingly voted “Terminator Genisys” as their third favorite Terminator film (ranked here), want to know the answers to these questions.

So, on behalf Terminator fans around the world that supported “Terminator Genisys”, we appeal to Skydance to complete the story.

Unless they plan to address these questions in their next Terminator film (which is still actually a possibility), we humbly ask Skydance to tell the rest of the story in another medium. Be it in a novel, a series of comic books , a video game, or at the very least in an in-depth interview, please complete the story for the fans who have continued to appreciate and support everything that is “Terminator Genisys”.
