Ever since the credits rolled back in 1991 for “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, fans have been dreaming of the day that the creator of our favorite franchise would be back to write and direct another Terminator movie. While the idea of James Cameron directing might never come true, the more we learn about the development of Terminator 6, the more it appears the story will indeed come from the mind of Cameron himself.
The creator of the Terminator franchise, James Cameron, has always been a driving force behind the progression of all aspects of film technology, in the forefront as well as behind the scenes. And one of those technologies Cameron has been an advocate for, as well as key to its development, is 3D technology. He predicted 3D would be a standard in cinemas by 2016, and wouldn’t you know it, Cameron was right.
Ignoring the warnings the Terminator franchise has taught us, the popular social media platform Facebook has a division dedicated to developing Artificial Intelligence. They call themselves F.A.I.R. (Facebook Artificial Intelligence Research) and have a mission statement that states they are “committed to advancing the field of machine intelligence.” But something went wrong recently, so much so they decided to pull the plug.
You saw this new Terminator themed product previewed on our social media pages last week, and now it is time for its unveiling! From the award-winning company AC Worldwide, this next-generation Terminator speaker combines a built-in HD video camera, Amazon Alexa, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and comes in form of a Endoskull bust! And they need the help of Terminator fans everywhere to make this speaker a reality, so AC Worldwide launched a Kickstarter Campaign!
Unlike “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and “Terminator Salvation”, fans everywhere knew that the creator of our favorite franchise, James Cameron actually had some involvement with the latest Terminator film “Terminator Genisys”. Acknowledging that his goal was “being loosely attached to the film” without credit, all while accepting meetings between him and Skydance C.E.O. David Ellison (as well as writer Laeta Kalogridis) and offering story contributions, it is factual to say that Cameron did indeed help shape what “Terminator Genisys” ultimately became.
Humans are no match for Terminators, but that doesn’t mean that lawyers aren’t! New lawsuits filed by the visual-effects company Rearden accuse Paramount’s “Terminator Genisys” of using stolen technology to create the young 1984 computer generated Arnold Schwarzenegger. You remember the scene… a time travelling standoff in Griffith Park between actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and a digitized version of his younger self.
When “News Corp Australia Network” (NCAN) sat down recently with Terminator creator James Cameron, the visionary director revealed not only that he wanted “Terminator 6” to be the start of a new trilogy, but hinted on what fans might expect in his new series of films. And what we can expect is a transition from the old Terminator films, to a brand new storyline.
Well now it’s getting exciting Terminator fans! The “News Corp Australia Network” (NCAN) had an opportunity to sit down with the creator of the Terminator franchise himself, James Cameron, and during that conversation Cameron revealed that he not only wants to make “Terminator 6”, but a seventh and eighth Terminator film as well! Yes, James Cameron wants to make a new trilogy… but he has to clear some copyright hurdles first.
Well unfortunately, it appears to be official Terminator fans. When Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D is released on Home Video this October 3rd in the United States, Lionsgate reportedly has no intentions to release it in 3D, the very format this new version of T2 has been trumpeted with since its announcement in December of 2015.
