Now that Paramount Pictures has officially declined their option to continue with the “Terminator Genisys” trilogy, and Skydance looks onward to produce a new Terminator film with creator James Cameron in the mix, a great deal of Terminator fans are left wondering what happened to the Guardian, Sarah and Kyle in the Genisys timeline? So it is time to let Skydance know, that fans would like to find out.
The story broke this past Saturday reported by the New York Daily News, that executives at Paramount Pictures have decided not to pick up their option to bring the sixth Terminator film to cinemas across the world. It was first embraced as good news to fans, but now, after a swell of misinformation, some Terminator fans have grown concerned in regards to the future of T6. Well, we are here to calm those fears.
[EDITORIAL – Contribution from ARMY] As Terminator fans are anxiously awaiting the next movie in the Terminator film franchise, there is a minor amount of disgruntled fans that shockingly do not want to see another film released. I should know. I was one of them. It wasn’t until I saw “Logan” that I have officially changed my mind about new Terminator films.
While promoting his latest documentary project “Atlantis Rising” (which follows a team of archeologists and scientists in search for the lost city of Atlantis), the legendary James Cameron was asked about the Terminator film franchise, past and present. Cameron went on to discuss the previous steps of the Terminator franchise, and its future… a future where he thinks “it’s possible to tell a great Terminator story now”!
Almost a year ago in February of 2016, we were contacted by someone who asked to remain anonymous and claimed they were related to a key member involved in the “Terminator 6” discussions, and had some news to share. We posted an article about it (found here) and warned readers to treat the information as strictly a rumor. However, now almost 12 months later, fresh from the revelation that James Cameron is involved heavily with developing T6, it appears this inside information may have been more factual than we realized.

[EDITORIAL] It is a sad state of affairs when someone writing a news article has an agenda. News articles are supposed to present the reader solely with the facts and let the reader form his own opinion based on those facts. Agendas, on the other hand, should be reserved for opinion based editorial articles.
There used to be a clear line dividing the two, however now that the requirements of professional journalism has been reduced to owning a computer and having an internet connection, that line has been sadly blurred… and the Terminator franchise is the latest casualty.
Apparently Terminator fans were not the only ones disappointed when Skydance announced the new Genisys trilogy would be delayed. While plugging his latest movie “Suicide Squad”, Jai Courtney spoke to CinemaBlend regarding his disappointment that the planned “Terminator Genisys” Trilogy was put on temporary hold (as Skydance Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg put it) “to do a worldwide study and really talk to audiences about what they loved, and what maybe didn’t work for them, so that the next (step) we take with the franchise is the right one.”
Ever since Skydance Media Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg announced in regards to the future of the Terminator franchise “Do we intend to have a next step of Terminator? Yes, we do“, fans have been anxiously waiting to hear what can we expect from a sixth film. Will the next film be a direct sequel to Terminator Genisys? If not, will it (at the least) carry over the threads of the alternate timeline that the writers of Genisys so cleverly established? While no one except for Skydance knows for sure, we decided to gather some plot tidbits of what was originally planned… and may still get in some shape or form in TERMINATOR 6.
