Back in 1984, audiences across the world were amazed when director James Cameron revealed The Terminator ‘s vision for the very first time. As Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese fled down the alley behind the Tech-Noir, the ominous red HUD (Heads Up Display) of the T-800 revealed that Sarah was not being pursued by just an ordinary man. Her pursuer was a cybernetic organism, equipped with a transparent display that presented analysis and decision options data over a visual screen. And now, you can be equipped with Terminator vision too!
James Cameron and the late Bill Paxton were very close friends, so much so that the night before Paxton’s heart surgery (that led to the complications that took his life), Jim and Bill had a conversation and made light of the surgery Bill was about to undergo. Unbeknownst to both of them, it would be the last time they would ever speak. So it is no wonder, after doing it twice already, that Cameron still felt the need to eulogize his late friend one more time.
Long time friend and collaborator James Cameron wrote an e-mail a little while ago to Vanity Fair, after the terrible news broke that Bill Paxton had died of complications from surgery at the age of 61. Here is what the saddened Cameron wrote about the passing of his dear late friend, Bill Paxton:
With great sadness, we must report that legendary actor Bill Paxton has died at the age of 61.
