New “TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY 3D” clips appear NOT to be official.

The past several weeks we have been receiving e-mails and social media messages from our Army of Terminator fans letting us know that six new official video clips for “Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D” have made their way online. While we have been responding to them individually, now that a few websites have called attention to these videos, we feel it is important to publicly set the record straight:  We do not believe these are official T2 in 3D clips.

Here are the six clips in question, posted by a Youtube channel called “The Upcoming” back on June 12th:

While we love these high resolution T2 clips, there is a clear indicator that these did not come from the new “Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D” print.

Back in May, we reported HERE that the creater of the Terminator franchise, James Cameron, commanded more digital alterations to T2 than he originally disclosed for this new 3D re-release. And one of those changes (made evident by the film’s new trailer) was taking the face of stunt man Peter Kent (wearing a facial appliance to make him look more like Arnold Schwarzenegger) and digitally altering it to reflect Arnold’s face… as seen in the image below:

But if you take a look at the fifth video, you’ll see that the “new clip” features the original face of stuntman Peter Kent.  This suggests that these new “official” video clips posted were not taken from the new remastered 3D print… but the original “Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D” film blu-ray.

We hope that helps clarify what you truly are seeing.

We’ll be back.
