If you are a Terminator fan you have likely heard the name Andrew Vajna before. Vajna was one of two film investors along with Mario Kassar who founded the company Carolco Pictures. Carolco was the film company that ultimately acquired the rights to the Terminator franchise from the Hemdale Film Corporation back in 1990 (after Vajna left), and went on to make the blockbuster film “Terminator 2: Judgment Day“. Later that decade Carolco went bankrupt, but out of the ashes Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar obtained the Terminator rights again and formed a new company called C2 Pictures in 2002. They produced the sequel “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” a year later. Vajna was also credited as an executive producer for both “Terminator Salvation” and the short-lived television series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.” Throughout his life, Vajna has had his influential hands all over Terminator… and now he’s back!
Back on Saturday, October 14th, Skydance posted an image of James Cameron on their social media pages along with the following comment: “Something big is coming. #Terminator”. Now to many Terminator fans, it appeared Skydance was teasing us with a big upcoming announcement in relation to the production of “Terminator 6”. However, we fans may have been a bit overzealous.
The sixth film in the Terminator franchise has landed a filming home in Budapest, Hungary! That’s right, Terminator 6 will be doing most of it’s filming in Origo Film Group Studios, the same facility used to film 2017’s “Blade Runner 2049” and “Atomic Blonde“! In fact, they have already begun the construction of sets for T6!
In this fourth episode of the Official Podcast of Skynet’s Army: Terminator Fans United, we look into the possibility of Robert Patrick joining the cast of “Terminator 6” and fans talk about their favorite moments from the classic film “The Terminator”!
We here at Skynet’s Army clearly understand that when the sixth film of the Terminator franchise is released in July of 2019, the title of the film will most assuredly not be “Terminator 6”. We are already aware that the next Terminator movie will be a direct sequel to “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, but considering there is already a Terminator 3 in the non-Cameron Terminator film universe, calling it T3 would most likely create confusion among fans (and especially among moviegoers that are more casual in their fandom.) So until there is an official title, we just use “Terminator 6” as a placeholder title so everyone knows what film we are referring to. Well apparently actor Arnold Schwarzenegger agrees with this sentiment, even though others around him like James Cameron may not.
This past August, we reported that the iconic T-800 Model 101 actor Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed to the world that “Terminator 6” would begin production this March, 2018 (that article can be found HERE.) Well now Terminator fans, we not only have confirmation that Arnold was correct and filming will indeed occur in five months, but now we know the locations they will be filming T6 in too… and it’s not in Hollywood, California!
Earlier today, Skydance excitingly teased fans with Terminator 6 news. They posted an image of James Cameron on their social media pages along with the following comment: “Something big is coming. #Terminator”. Now to most Terminator fans, exactly what this T6 related big announcement Skydance will be making remains a mystery. However, one loyal member of our Terminator Army feels he may have just “cracked the code” and figured out what Skydance’s big reveal will be!
On Tuesday, September 19th at the Paramount Theatre in Los Angeles, California, Terminator history was made! This is when the creator of the Terminator franchise, James Cameron, marked his return to the universe we know and love by officially announcing his involvement with Terminator 6. While we covered all of the stunning details within our news reports, only approximately 200 people were able to actually witness the filmmakers speak about this new upcoming Terminator film. The rest of the Terminator fans had to resort to only reading about it…. until now!
Last night at the Paramount Theatre in Los Angeles, California, the creator of the Terminator franchise James Cameron sat on stage with his friend and “Deadpool” director Tim Miller to discuss their future plans for an untitled new Terminator film we like to call Terminator 6. While the majority of the bullet points were covered within the Hollywood news feed… Linda Hamilton returns, Tim Miller directs, James Cameron produces (all reported HERE)… there was a bombshell involving Arnold Schwarzenegger that was all but ignored by the media. Luckily for Terminator fans however, one of our Army was actually in sitting in attendance and here is his report:
She’s back! Are we dreaming! Can someone pinch us? No this is happening Terminator fans! Actress Linda Hamilton, star of “The Terminator” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” is returning to the franchise one again as Sarah Connor in the next Terminator film!
It’s happening Terminator Fans! Skydance has just indicated that the Terminator 6 announcement we have all been waiting for, will be coming this Tuesday, September 19, 2017! That’s right Terminator fans, the best day ever is almost here!
While Terminator fans eagerly await for Skydance & Paramount to officially announce their production schedule and release date for Terminator 6, our e-mail inbox has recently received some interesting informational tidbits about the next anticipated installment in our favorite franchise! With some of this information received being verified news, and some of it being unsubstantiated rumors, it would be a dereliction of our duties not to report everything we have learned to our Army… especially when fans are hungering for new information about T6!
