Well now it’s getting exciting Terminator fans! The “News Corp Australia Network” (NCAN) had an opportunity to sit down with the creator of the Terminator franchise himself, James Cameron, and during that conversation Cameron revealed that he not only wants to make “Terminator 6”, but a seventh and eighth Terminator film as well! Yes, James Cameron wants to make a new trilogy… but he has to clear some copyright hurdles first.
The report states that James Cameron is in negotiations to oversee a new Terminator “three-film arc”, only if the ongoing issues with the rights to the franchise can be resolved (because under US copyright law some rights will revert to Cameron in 2019.)
This validates what we reported back in March (found HERE) that Skydance and James Cameron were in deep copyright negotiations. Will James Cameron end up the sole copyright owner of the Terminator franchise, or will it end up as as shared ownership with David Ellison’s Skydance? Either way, this has to be resolved in negotiations before any deal can be done, otherwise they will not move forward with “Terminator 6”, let alone a trilogy.
Here is what Cameron had to say:
JAMES CAMERON: “So I am in discussions with David Ellison, who is the current rights holder globally for the Terminator franchise and the rights in the US market revert to me under US copyright law in a year and a half so he and I are talking about what we can do. Right now we are leaning toward doing a three-film arc and reinventing it. We’ll put more meat on the bones if we get past the next couple of hurdles as and when we announce that.”
So let’s hope James Cameron and Skydance’s David Ellison can work out those copyright issues and get to work on Terminator 6, 7 and 8!

how about if terminators where made in other Versions as skin type not only Arnold but as dolph lundgren or Sylvester stallone or hulk hoagan, or other pumped up famous people

Yep camerons back and the fact that terminator 2 wasnt the last movie ever done sais something about the faults of that movie as a conclusion.
Hopefully now we get the 3 or 4 film arc that we should have got the first time around.
Hopefully some respect is paid to genisys as cameron did support that when it was released.

C’mon, guys. Get together on this and make epic happen. There aren’t a lot of people who have the ability to make so many people happy and provide an escape through entertainment from the everyday crap that we drudge through. I’ve always wanted to know… when is enough enough!? You live lives that, while you worked hard for what you have accomplished, the rest of us who dream of having your imagination and creativity only fantasize of finding our way into immortality through our efforts as you have. Alas, some of us, for whatever reason, are filler who just make the world run until our time comes and we disappear into everlasting obscurity. It’s not what anyone dreams about, but, it’s all that some of us have. You have the ability to provide us with the fantasies that keep us entertained and dreaming while we continue on day after day. There was a time in history when story tellers like you could wander into a settlement and be clothed, fed, and, supplied simply for the entertainment and escape you provide. It’s an honorable thing to be able to just make people happy. I’m pretty sure you both have enough money to experience the world and the magic it has to offer in our short time here; Magic the rest of us dream of, but, sometimes can only experience through your creativity and stories. So, if money is the issue, when is enough enough?!
